Kansas City is known for its kindness. That's why Fox4 and RaisingKC have kicked off the “Cup of Kindness” Campaign spotlighting children's mental health, as we welcome the world to KC!
Welcome to Kansas City!
As it became official that Kansas City would be a host city for the World Cup, organizers of the RaisingKC public health campaign approached their media partner, Fox4 with an idea: Let’s build upon our “KC is the Kindest City” reputation as we connect with our international visitors and raise KC up to be kind and nurturing for all! So to help our community welcome visitors from across the globe with confidence and kindness, RaisingKC and Fox4 are launching “The Cup of Kindness” Campaign.
Two 30-second public service announcements have been created featuring Kansas City youth from around the bi-state area welcoming our visitors in the four languages of the base teams’ countries…
- Willkommen! (The Netherlands)
- ¡Bienvenidos! (Argentina)
- Mrhbaan! (Algeria)
- Welcome! (England)
The PSAs tell how “Kansas City is known for our kindness, and as the winner of the ‘Kindness Cup’, we are welcoming the world…because no matter where you’re from, you are welcome here!”
Campaign to launch June 12.
Fox4 is the official local station for the World Cup. Their commitment to raising the mental health of our community is what makes this RaisingKC partnership so special. The “Cup of Kindness” Campaign will air throughout the World Cup, thanks to the generosity of AdventHealth KC and Johnson County Community College.
RaisingKC is a public health initiative of the Raised with Love and Limits Foundation. According to Barbara Unell, the Executive Director of the Foundation, “As a mom, dad, doctor, coach, teacher, neighbor, bus driver, friend, or family member… in our community, you literally raise children up to be kind, caring, resilient humans through your supportive relationships with them. And in the process, you also raise the mental, physical and behavioral health and well-being of all who call KC home. RaisingKC is dedicated to helping adults build those relationships every day to ensure children know they matter and those who raise them matter, too.”
The RaisingKC public health campaign is led by the Raised with Love and Limits Foundation, a national 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting safe, stable and nurturing adult-child relationships to prevent toxic stress and adverse childhood experiences.
