Blue Valley Parents as Teachers
Monthly home visits, group connections, resource connection and screening for any family with a child in the Blue Valley School District prenatal-three years of age and 3-5 years of age if they have 2 or more risk factors. We provide bi/monthly home visits, screenings including ASQ SE, provide parent child interaction based weekly playgroups and monthly group connections. Provide adult "classes" around discipline, positive behavior support, sleep, toiletings, etc. We are strength based and our curriculum includes the Protective Factors. Johnson County Mental Health
An example of one of the many programs building positive adult-child relationships offered by Johnson County Mental Health is the Strengthening Families Program (SFP). SFP is an evidence-based prevention program for parents and children ages 3-5, 6-11 and 12-16 who would benefit from additional support to promote positive behavior change. SFP consists of parenting skills, children's life skills, and family skills training courses taught together in fourteen sessions. Missouri First Steps
First Steps is Missouri's Early Intervention system that provides services to families with children, birth to three years of age, with disabilities or developmental delays. The program is designed to meet the needs of families related to enhancing their child's development, learning, and participation in family and community life. Our providers go into the home to work with families and their children. A big part of that is empowering them to have the tools and resources to help their child.
