On June 4th, a “raising” ceremony was held at Union Station to honor the local artistic team behind the RaisingKC Quilt:

• Designers: Morgan Georgie and Carrie Kiefer/ Ampersand Design Studio
• Quilter: Tia Curtis/ Tia Curtis Quilts
• Exhibit Builder: Johnny and Michele Dawbarn/CollectiveEX

Symbolizing the comfort and coming together in safe, stable, nurturing relationships around our children, our 10 ft. x 10 ft. joyful RaisingKC Quilt was on display in a special 25 ft. x 20 ft. exhibit in Union Station’s Grand Hall.  

RaisingKC is a “team sport”! We all need each other, and children also need a team to support their growing up with as many safe, stable, nurturing relationships as possible. We’ve stitched them into the quilt with love. Come discover and honor them!
